then. now. next?

This music video was created for bluegrass legend Del McCoury’s remake of the 1932 classic Breadline Blues, and is finalist in the “Living in Moneyland” short film competition, a collaborative venture between the singer and the Independent Film Channel.

A finalist in the competition, the entire film was created from public domain films, primarily from the 1930s and 40s. The ability to tell a 21st-century story using this footage underscores the age-old lesson that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

the power connection

Produced for the Renaissance Computing Institute and National Environmental Modeling Center at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, and in conjunction with The Elumenati, this second in a series of films about climate and water issues describes the often neglected correlation between climate change, drought and power generation.

Using 3D animation, hi-res geographic imaging, the video employs scientific visualization to communicate complex scientific  issues to lay audiences. It has been shown across the country in both surround and flat-screen formats.
